Enough Already!

You are enough.
You have enough.
You do enough.

Enough. It’s not a word we often tell ourselves. In fact, the peanut gallery likes to say, more, more, more. Be more, have more, do more.

But what if we could come to terms at the end of the day that, in fact, what we have done in the last 24 hours is not just enough, but fulfilled? How relieving would that be? To put all the cries of “be better, do better” to rest and truly acknowledge that we are doing our best.

You are enough.
You don’t need to more beautiful, more strong, more qualified. You are beautiful, you are strong, and very much qualified. If you slipped and said something in a social setting that you wish you hadn’t – it’s ok. You are enough. If you missed an opportunity to make a big break – it’s ok. You are enough. When the walls of the real world come caving in and threatening your comfort zone, you are still, very much enough. I promise.

You have enough.
It’s ok to want a bigger house, a nicer car, a raise, a better wardrobe. But you already have enough. You have all the God-given necessary tools within you already. The other stuff is nice. But you have enough for your own approval, and that’s all you need.

You do enough.
Running around, checking to-do lists, clean the bathroom, write the papers, fold the laundry, don’t forget to cram in those 60 minutes for yoga so you can undo the stress of said to-do list. I promise, you do enough. Forgot to call and make haircut appointment? But you finally got that license renewed! It’s enough. Want to volunteer more, spend more time with scripture, more time at the gym? Relax, you do enough.

You just have to try.
